ABOUT US
In 1954 Charles Cabinet Co. was established by Don Charles at its present location in Roseville, MN. In 1974, Don Charles hired Jim Schreier as an apprentice cabinetmaker and eventually sold the business to Jim’s father Matthew Schreier in 1976. Matt had been a cabinetmaker for 20 years. Father and son worked together until January of 1991. At that time, Matt retired and Jim, along with his wife Deb, bought the business. Jim had a vision of taking the company to the next level of design, customer service and workmanship. He implemented computerized drafting, built a new 2000 square foot showroom, doubled the size of the shop, and installed state-of-the-art machinery.
In January of 2017, Patrick Heavirland purchased the business. After serving in the Marine Corp and obtaining a degree in Architectural Drafting Pat founded Heavirland Homes and began a 20+ year career as a designer, carpenter and contractor. Over the years Pat worked with Charles Cabinets and recognized the quality, skill and professionalism that only experience, and integrity can deliver. In 2015 when the Schreier’s approached Pat with the opportunity to purchase the cabinet shop. Pat recognized this as a natural progression in his career. Pat joined the Charles Cabinets team with the intent to go all in. He took over as Shop Foreman and Lead Installer then worked his way through the Sales and Design team and finalized the purchase in early 2017. Pat and the Charles Cabinets team are dedicated to continuing the traditions of quality craftsmanship and top-notch customer service.
The future is bright. We are incredibly blessed with long term employees, some of whom have been with the company for over 40 years. With Pat’s leadership and his amazing team, Charles Cabinets is able to take your project from concept to completion and provide an end result you will love for years to come.
